Social interactions are important as long as they are healthy. One shall not pursue social interactions because societal pressure dictate so, it's not that different from romantic relationship when we get bombarded since we are little that they are a matter of death and life and you should always in a relationship or else you will die alone. But then people with no tools to discriminate healthy relationships from toxic patterns often end up in toxic relationships.
Take your time, go to your own pace and trust me it's not necessary to know the new gen slang to be in a social relationship. I am relatively old but I tend to get along with people regardless of slang or not (which I may learn by interacting with them but it's not mandatory). And I agree with RusNG, don't become a brainrotted dumbass. Just be a decent person, don't force relationships or get forced into relationships and enjoy your life.
